No, it's not Melissa Benoist doing a make-up commercial (though she could sing the "Easy Breezy..." tagline :p ).

Actually, McFarlane Toys has been making the moves on things superhero related. Well, now he takes a turn at Kara. But it's something not a lot of us have seen before.

Bleeding Cool reports Todd McFarlane's outlet has put out a "limited edition Supergirl statue from J. Scott Campbell's DC Cover Girls line."

This is "as he (Campbell) wanted to play into the 'girl' part of this young hero. Plenty of stylings from her comic book history are featured here, from elements of Bruce Timm's Superman series, her time in the 70s, and some modern fun with sportswear aesthetic."

In other words, a youthful athletic, beautiful female hero who wants to help and not the upcoming James Gunn film based on Supergirl of Tomorrow where she goes nuts after losing her family on Krypton. I dig the vibe of it but have not heard of the Cover Girls line. Kara has been featured in the WWII stylized Bombshells series a few years ago. This is like the Supergirl many of us knew about and loved, including on the TV Show

I somehow get the take of one of my favorite SG outfits, from her 1972-83 run, only without the puffy sleeves and the red sneakers and yellow trim replace the ballet slippers and the high-top socks the boots. It also has a stand with the Supergirl 1984 movie logo (by the way, it's 40 years since the Helen Slater film was released next month.). It's a sort of Variations on a Theme.

But I am going to be honest, is it really worth $150? I mean, she's cute and sexy. What I am saying is, I am not much into statues. BUT...if McFarlane and Campbell were to put out a $30 action figure of this, I would be all in.

There have been action figs of SG put out by McFarlane Toys.
